Playtech is an online casino and poker company. It provides software to retail brands, many of which are European sports books. No Playtech casinos or poker rooms accept U.S. players.
Playtech’s poker network is known as iPoker. It is the third largest poker site in the world. It has two tiers. The largest licensees share exclusive tables that are not available on smaller skins on the lower tier.
Playtech has a good reputation. Its games are fun and fair. There have been some blunders by licensees over the years where Playtech did not get involved. One involved Betfair. The well known sports exchange company ran a Happy Hour promotion in 2010 that was extremely generous. It refused to pay most winners. There are also many licensees that have unreasonable progressive jackpot payout policies.
Playtech Banking
All Playtech banking is handled by licensees. All accept Neteller, Skrill and other international ewallets. Regional debit cards are generally accepted as well. Withdrawals are processed back to the ewallet, credit card, or debit card that was used to deposit.

Playtech Blackjack Games
Playtech spreads many blackjack, roulette, and other table games. There are several unique blackjack games. One is 21 Duel Blackjack. This is a game where the dealer and player are dealt two cards with two communal cards. The player picks one community card with one player card with a double bet or folds and moves to the next hand. There are no doubles or splits in 21 Duel Blackjack. All other blackjack games allow doubles and splits.
Most Playtech blackjack games are dealt European style. This means that the dealer does not receive his hole card until the player has acted.

Playtech Scandals
In 2009, a player won $4.4 million playing a progressive slot at Joyland. Progressives are paid from pooled funds from players across all Playtech sites. The site where a progressive jackpot is hit receives the funds from Playtech to pay the player. Joyland refused to pay the player in full. Instead, it only offered to pay the player $9,000 per month. This would have made it take nearly 40 years to pay the entire win. Playtech refused to get involved and the player was forced to negotiate for a smaller amount.
The Betfair Happy Hour scandal is another example where players got cheated and Playtech would not get involved. Players were offered a 10 times wager requirement in 2010 for a few special short hours. Betfair got hit hard and decided to simply not pay anybody. In some cases, it even went into the ewallets and bank accounts of players that already withdrew winnings. This is simply unacceptable. Betfair’s once stellar reputation was destroyed.
